Here are a wonderful pair of Antique Silver Extendable Candlesticks. They are so exciting because they extend from the 5 1/2 inches to 7 1/2 inches through a telescopic tube inside the main body. As you can see in the pictures they are in fantastic condition for their age with just a few blemishes that do not detract from their beauty.
Sheffield Plate telescopic sticks dating to the first part of the nineteenth century.
This item is a pair of early 20th Century Silver Plated Candle Snuffers together with a Silver Plated Tray. The tray measures 9.25" x 3.5" whilst the length of the Candle Snuffers , which stand on three feet, is 6.5". The condition of the Silver Plate on the Snuffers is remarkably good but the copper is beginning to show through on the ends of the Tray. There are three marks on the Snuffers which could give the impression that it is real silver but close inspection shows that the marks are not recognised hall marks. The snuffers are in perfect working order the only very minor damage being that the pointed end on them is a little scratched.
Fine Sheffield Plate candle snuffer and tray. The candle snuffer is stamped with a Sheffield Plate mark just below the box. The tray has an applied edge with gadrooned moulding. Both items date to the early part of the nineteenth century.
